My goal was to create a climbable typeface. By extruding specific parts within the glyph’s anatomy I was able to create multiple grip types, allowing routesetters to not only set a route of various difficulties, but also set words.
Glyphs were designed with Glyphs App, modeled in 3D within Blender,
and produced with Beech wood/synthetic materials using CNC milling.
